Course 3 - Standing at the Crossroads

"“Reinventing yourself as you stand at the crossroads of upheaval and
choose transformation and abundance with conscious intent ."

August 12 – September 8, 2010

Course Description:

Integrative practitioners recognize the mind-body-spirit connection in achieving wellness. In this Course, we continue to explore the ancient shamanic art of celebrating rites of passage. This practice teaches us to move through any major life change in a way that allows us to understand what is happening, what our role in it is and how to successfully move forward into the new world that has been created. In our time, we go through these changes without much guidance and support and often find ourselves stressed and uncertain. We will learn how to examine and approach various life passages so as to revitalize our spirits and come into balance and understanding of self as we find those places within that may feel stressed or traumatized by incomplete passages and heal the pain or anguish that may still be held there.

In this third course we will examine our perception of our world and our ability to influence our lives in positive way no matter what the situation. We will focus on: 1) the role fear plays in our lives and healing our relationship with it; 2) setting and enforcing boundaries in a positive way; 3) constructively dealing with boundaries set by others; 4) the art of choosing our own pathways when confronted with the upheavals of life; and 5) discovering what is needed in order to weather life’s storms in a life-affirming way, rather than using a habitual, learned response, which doesn’t serve us. These techniques can be used with and taught to our clients.

Course Objectives:

At the end of this online course in alternative practices, participants will be able to:

1. Discuss meditation, representational art, ceremony, group discussion, and use of spiritual allies as tools for relieving these life stresses.

2. Discuss at least one method of working with a client’s energy system.

3. Discuss ways of incorporating these procedures into their professional practice.
